Xylitol is a natural sugar obtained from birch bark. Unlike the sweeteners on the market, xylitol has a sweet taste with no other aftertaste.
Its sweetening power is the same as the sweetening power of plain white sugar. However, the calorific value of xylitol is much smaller - only 240kcal in 100g.
In addition, birch sugar has many other beneficial properties: it has a positive effect on oral hygiene, it does not increase the blood sugar level (glycemic index = 9).
It dissolves perfectly and can be used for cooking and baking.
